Antonio Conte has spoken about the special
relationship he has with Chelsea fans and how he is driven by a desire
to make them happy.
The Blues showed great character to come from 2-1 behind to beat Watford at the Bridge on Saturday, and Conte explained his mindset at the point where the Hornets were in the ascendancy and threatening to extend their lead.
‘In this moment it is important for the coach to stay focused on the pitch, to understand the right way to help your team,’ said Conte, whose substitutions proved inspirational, with Michy Batshuayi netting twice, and both William and Zappacosta also making an impact from the bench.
‘It’s not simple because whenever you see your team is suffering, it is not simple for the coach, but you must try to find a way.

‘I think my relationship with the fans is incredible,’ he added. ‘They always support me – from my first game against West Ham, they prepared a big Italian flag in the stands. I think the feeling with the fans is incredible and I feel pressure to repay this. They call my name, and me and my players want to give great satisfaction to our fans because they deserve this.
‘I trust in my work, I give all myself in my work and I feel the pressure to give satisfaction to my players, our fans and the club, because I ask a lot of myself.’
Having returned to winning ways in the league, attentions now turn to the visit of Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
As in the previous round, when the Blues produced an impressive display to beat Nottingham Forest 5-1, Conte says he will give some of the younger members of his squad a chance against the Toffees.
‘I think for the game against Everton it is a good opportunity to give a chance to young players like Charly Musonda and Kenedy,’ he said. ‘They are young but they deserve this chance because they are working very well, they are improving and to see the improvement during a tough game against Everton, I think is important for the club.’
