Chelsea’s strategy of farming out young players on loan has been criticized widely because even with so many talented players on their books, none seem to be able to break into the first team. Much has been talked about how good Chelsea’s first team would be if they had not sold Kevin De Bruyne, Mohammed Salah and Romelu Lukaku. The board will certainly think twice before selling any young talented players in the future and will probably insist on a buy back clause. Although, much can’t be done about the likes of De Bruyne who is leading City to the Premier League title this season now, Chelsea must ensure that they don’t repeat the same mistakes again.

Tammy Abraham
Abraham who was called up to the England National team is enjoying a good start to his Premier League season at Swansea. He will definitely gain a lot of experience this season with Swansea and can be an able backup to Alvaro Morata in the future especially as Antonio Conte doesn’t seem to trust Michy Batshuayi.
Kurt Zouma
It was definitely a surprise that Chelsea let Zouma go out on loan to Stoke City considering that their squad was a bit thin. Considering the fact that Gary Cahill is getting old and Antonio Rudiger has not been able to settle down in the Premier League so far, Zouma can easily find first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Loftus-Cheek who impressed in England’s draw against Germany is a box to box midfielder who should not have been loaned this season in the first place. Chelsea’s midfield doesn’t have much depth and Loftus-Cheek would have definitely improved the squad. Instead he is playing for Crystal Palace who have been terrible so far this season. Sometime more than game time, it is important for players to have the right atmosphere and exposure. We have seen so many talented players on loans at clubs who have horrible seasons lose their way.
