As per reports in the Italian media this morning, Premier League champions Chelsea will have scouts present at the Serie A matchup between Inter Milan and Atalanta on Sunday.
Targets
The Blues’ representatives have reportedly been sent to watch a pair of Nerazzurri stars in action, in the form of Antonio Candreva and Milan Skriniar.
The duo have been key to Luciano Spalletti’s side enjoying an excellent start to the season, with the 2010 Champions League winners currently sitting just two points off the top of the Serie A table, having won 9 and drawn 3 of their 12 fixtures to this point.
Creator
Candreva, a direct right winger, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on multiple occasions in the past, with Antonio Conte said to be a keen admirer of the talents of the Italian international.
The Blues were even rumoured to have submitted a substantial bid for his services during the summer, only to be knocked back by Inter, who view Candreva as a key member of their squad moving forward.
However, with Chelsea having already brought in Davide Zappacosta from Torino this summer to challenge Victor Moses for a starting spot on the right flank, a fresh move for Candreva looks unlikely at this moment in time.
Revelation
Skriniar, meanwhile, is a 22-year-old Slovakian central defender who arrived at the San Siro from Sampdoria for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of 25 million Euro during the summer.
The powerful stopper has enjoyed a sensational start to life with his new club, standing out as the finest defender in the Italian top-flight to this point in the campaign.
As a result, Spanish giants Barcelona have already been linked with a big-money bid for his services, with Chelsea having also seemingly joined the hunt.
