Arsenal are close to finalising the appointment of Sven Mislintat as their new head of recruitment,
Mislintat, the Borussia Dortmund scout, will be officially announced as an Arsenal man in the next few days, according to the report, and the Gunners have had to pay BVB around £1.8m (2 million euros) to prise him away from the Westfalenstadion.
Bayern Munich have also been interested in hiring Mislintat, though he has opted to move to north London to replace Steve Rowley, Arsenal’s head of recruitment since 1996 who is set to leave the club at the end of 2017-18.
The appointment of Mislintat is a major boost to Arsenal’s recruitment process, as the 45-year-old is credited with discovering and signing Robert Lewandowski, the current Bayern forward, star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, USA international Christian Pulisic, and Ousmane Dembele, the France attacker who left Dortmund for Barcelona over the summer in a £135.5m deal.
